Im Canadian but was in the states for the opening ceremonies i watched it on NBC and it was the biggest joke ever they had no clue what they where talking about. Horrible! Typical ignorant Americans. Its sad but Canada USA relationship is getting worse and worse i think it’s the fact Canada is loved more by the world and America gets ragged on by the rest. O well that what you get when you turn politics into a popularity contest! And the wrong guy always win! (Oboma) what a joke lol
@Brendanberlingeri I’m American and I agree. We get into everyones bussiness, and that’s why many countries hate us.
Not the mention the fact that in the Olympics we always win the most medals (which is why I was happy Canada won both Hockey events). A lot of Americans say that Canada sucks, I love Canada. Sometimes I wish I lived there.
A lot of us Americans are being such dickheads, and it makes me ashamed.
@christmaszorro Your being hateful to Canada. You are the kinda people I hate.
what was being done on NBC? why was it a joke, because of the commentating or just the opening ceremonies itself.
the states probably is a nice place to live if you are extremely wealthy. but if your an average joe citizen then its better to stay in Canada.
Free health care, lots of hockey on TV, maple syrup, beaver tales, etc.
They had no clue what they where talking about! All lies about Canada
song?? please
not to be a cynic but did this show have like no budget or something, not very action packed for a closing ceremony
this was not the official Olympics Closing ceremony. This was a satellite venue in Richmond which hosted a concert stage, the Heineken House and some other free events for people looking for Olympic related stuff
good ear. it skips twice in fact, might explain why it sort of seems out of sync midway. Ends on cue though, and the last song was synced right.
Ah. Maybe they should have used a digital track?
what were they saying?
U pay a 500×500 Apartment Flat For 3400$ in Canadian! [Worths Less Than US] xD
It’s good to live in Canada if your poor? Ummm check Vancouver’s real estate….
it depends what u are looking for and where. some areas are indeed very high.
@team1200 3rd world USA? Ok so I’m already aware of what education level I’m working with here….I don’t know if the ceremony was disorganized but it was quite boring and weird…I even have canadian friends that called me up after it because they felt it was tasteless and snobby and gave canadians a bad name. I actaully had to agree but I felt guilty thinking that until a canadian themselves came out to say it
@flowers1122 I’ll agree, I got an aunt who lives in Victoria, BC…my god that place is over priced. $600,000 for a house. I toured Vancouver and I got to admit the buildings aren’t all that tall but there are just tons of them making a very nice skyline. I don’t know what the rest of Canada real estate costs but by no means is that area cheap
USA is turning into 3rd world, 7 trillion $ in debt…good luck paying that off.
How was it boring? What did you expect? It had everything, it had music, performing, lights, special effects. And how was it snobby?
I nor did anyone i know say that
@team1200 @team1200 it’s also got a GDP of 14.2 Trillion of course we are going to have higher debt then other countries…we make more…that by no means makes us a third world country.
@team1200 And from what I watched the jokes weren’t even funny and they made comments like “canada likes to say sorry…but we don’t mean it”–wonder if this was refering to the womens hockey incident. They had other weird stuff like peeing other countries names in the snow…it was just really snobby and this is coming from a canadian
Despite your GDP, you national debt. Here is a live tracker of your national debt.
usdebtclock -dot- org
@team1200 yes apperently a 14.2 trillion dollar GDP makes us a 3rd world country…seriously pull out a economics books sometime. Besides that wasn’t the main conversation I notice you didn’t even respond to that part
@Kartracer6: I don’t know how this argument started, but here’s my say. No you are nowhere near being a so called 3rd world nation. That said, your debt is staggering and could pose some serious problems if no dealt with soon. Also, you have to find a way to reduce the growing disparity between the wealthy and poor in your nation. If you look at stats you will see that your middle class is quickly shrinking, as this gap widens. Lastly, congrats on your insane number of overall medals!
@theWall0719 Yes I’ll agree with a huge number of those statements. Most nations are in a cyclical economy right not and the US and UK and parts of europe are probably getting hit the worst. I think one of the biggest things this nation probably needs to do to stop the inflation and economy is do nothing. because in past years doing something helped then but only made it worse later. But fun olympics. Great job Canada on the Hockey games heck of a game
I want to listen Bryan Adams in Vancuver
@Kartracer6
lol a crappy house in the west side of Vancouver could easily cost over $1,000,000.. :’(
