Aside for the accidental death of that Georgian luger prior to the opening ceremony, what still could’ve made these Games better?

There was a lot of double standards in this Olympics, especially in speed skating. Koreans and Canadians were given free passes on violations while American JR Celski was disqualified. A Canadian put his hand on Apolo Ohno on his way to getting gold, which resulted in him losing speed and falling back to bronze, yet the Canadian got away with it. Better judging and fair rules would have made the games better.
